Changing the face of Community Policing

Mayor Harrington is pleased to announce a tentative agreement reached with members of the Brockton Police Department that will change the face of policing in the City of Brockton. Subject to City Council approval, the agreement calls for the redistricting of the city into three distinctive geographic precincts with a separate commander each precinct.

Safety Initiative grant awarded again to the City of Champions

Mayor James E. Harrington announced today that the City of Brockton was notified by the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security that the City will be awarded the Senator Charles E. Shannon Community Safety Initiative grant for the third year in a row. The grant in the amount of $835,000, an increase of $150,000 over prior years, will serve to address the city’s youth violence and prevention initiatives.
