The City of Brockton Assessors’ Office has currently concluded the state mandated property revaluation effort for fiscal year 2017. The office contracted with Tyler Technologies to provide visual exterior property inspections of all real estate and extensive assistance in the development of the valuation process and values.
Property values are developed by a thorough analysis of all market and sale activity which occurred during calendar year 2015. This includes the review and coding of all sale transactions, market lease and vacancy activity. The assessment date for this fiscal year and tax bill is January 1, 2016.
The final analysis of market activity and proposed values are then reviewed by the Department of Revenue-Division of Local Services (DLS) to ensure fairness and equity among and between all property types. The valuation analysis and subsequent proposed values must adhere to strict standards established by the DLS.
As of October 28, 2016 the listed proposed values HAVE NOT received Preliminary Certification from DLS.
