Tax Collector

The Tax Collector is responsible for collecting and accounting for more than $150 million in annual revenue collected through excise, personal property and real property taxes. Water and sewer fees as well as refuse collection fees are collected as well in the basement office at City Hall. All collections are entered in the respective cashbooks and posted to the taxpayer's accounts. Refunds are distributed as necessary. Public notices of overdue accounts are generated from this office. Information regarding taxes and property assessments on real estate being sold or financed are provided too. We can answer most inquiries over the phone for resident taxpayers.
