Board of Health

The Health Department enforces the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and laws/ordinances of the City of Brockton to protect the health and well being of its residents and the general public.

We educate both property owners and tenants in order to obtain compliance of all applicable laws/ordinances to include hazards of lead paint in the existing housing stock.

We enforce applicable state and federal laws pertaining to food service establishments through systematic inspections of each food establishment. We educate food establishment owners and managers and the general public regarding safe/sound food handling practices.

We also warn the residents of the city of health hazards by creating a branch of the Massachusetts Tobacco Control Program here in Brockton.
